New Distribution Capability – NDC introduced by IATA by aiming the challenges that are limited by Global Distribution Systems (GDS). This includes missing of a core global standard for sharing of contents. And IATA does do it in very simplified and comprehensive way.

IATA’s New Distribution Capability (NDC) is an XML-based data transmission standard that allows for airlines to distribute their content to aggregators, travel agencies and other third parties, in a single, seamless flow.

NDC standard exposes all the key players across the travel ecosystem to new possibilities by enabling product differentiation, consistent content across all channels and transparent, personalized retailing. In support of this vision, we’ve upgraded our solutions using the New Distribution Capability (NDC) standard. 

Remember that NDC is not:

• A technical product or software
• A direct-connect sales channel (it can work either via a travel technology platform or directly with the airline)

NDC makes the future of airline retailing possible and ensures a solid foundation on which new technology can be developed.
